A well-known former emcee and TV and radio co-host in Alexander City has been arrested and charged with having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old student, according to court records and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department.
David Brenton Burkhalter, 30, of Ashland, a geometry and algebra teacher at Randolph County High School in Wedowee, was charged with two counts of second-degree rape, one count of sodomy, two counts of electronic solicitation of a child, two counts of violation of the school employee sex act with a student less than 19 years of age and one count of enticing a child.
