While Alexander City-based Central Alabama Community College had an overall favorable bill of health in a recently released audit, the school paid $100,914 in penalties and interest last fiscal year for failure to submit employees’ taxes on time in previous years, an issue that officials say has been addressed.

CACC President Dr. Susan Burrow said the penalties stemmed from a gap in timing of the electronic filing and the submission electronic payment.
