Changes ahead for Carlisle Drug Company

An Alexander City business with 100-year-old roots is preparing for some changes, but Carlisle Drug Company owners Lisa and Daniel Champion said the changes do not mean that the business is going away.

Daniel Champion confirmed Wednesday that they plan to consolidate the Carlisle pharmacy operation with their Hometown Pharmacy at 839 Airport Road on Jan. 1 of next year. He said that while the pharmacy move is one that they could not avoid, he said they’re looking to sell the gift shop and soda fountain to a new owner.
