The 33 officers who worked the 2009 Alexander City Jazz Festival but have yet to be paid can now expect to receive a check for their services.

The City Council passed a resolution 4-2 Monday to amend the budget to increase its contribution to the Jazz Fest Committee by $5,362.50 to pay for security at the festival.
