Local physicians ordered their first doses of the swine flu vaccine this week, but several offices have requested small batches while others have refused to order it altogether.

The Alabama Department of Public Health opened up Internet portals for physicians to place orders Wednesday for the first 45,000 doses of the swine flu vaccine. For the local offices that did order the vaccine, it will be made available to patients first.
