The Leadership Lake Martin team replaced the mulch, pressure washed the playground equipment and got two more benches for Laurel Park.

Three teams with Leadership Lake Martin went out to find needs in the community, and one such team revitalized Laurel Park behind Cooper Recreation Center.

Team member Steve Lewis, athletic director at Central Alabama Community College, said the mulch at the park was old and no longer provided much cushion. So that was the first thing he and the rest of the team focused on. The team arranged for an 18-wheeler to drop off a supply of mulch that they could lay out.
