Chief Assistant District Attorney Damon Lewis lost his bid for district attorney to replace the retiring E. Paul Jones in the Fifth Judicial Circuit of Alabama to former law enforcement officer and Chambers County attorney Bill Harris.

“It does not look like we will pull it out tonight,” Lewis said Tuesday night as he was getting numbers from Macon County. “It has been 18 years that I have enjoyed working for the state of Alabama. I look forward to the future.”
