Many laughs were heard and more than a few tears were shed during Russell Medical Center’s breast cancer awareness luncheon in the Betty Carol Graham Technology Center on Thursday. More than 400 people listened to the stories of Carla Carruth Tigner and Paul Ott Carruth, a father-daughter duo who both battled the disease.

“(Cancer) is not something I would ever ask for myself, but I wouldn’t ever give it back,” Tigner said.
