Reading campers learn with 70-year-old toys

In 2015, one magazine tapped the toys that captured the attention of the 210 participants at Wednesday’s installment of the Summer Reading Camp at Stephens Elementary School as “the world’s most powerful brand.”

The plastic building bricks called Legos (from the Danish leg godt, which means “play well”), invented by Danish carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen, have been around since 1949.
