Everyone gives blood for a different reason and not all of them are altruistic. Sometimes it’s just for the payoff, say, for something like a burger.

That may have been the case Saturday when people came to give at a Red Cross blood drive in exchange for a grilled hamburger cooked on-site by the Tallapoosa County Cattlemen’s Association. The Red Cross and the Cattlemen’s association have been teaming up to hold similar blood drives at sites across the nation.
