The Russell Medical Foundation is using the $260,000 raised from its recent event to renovate 10 rooms in the transitional care unit.

The unit is a post-acute rehab area providing skilled care with patients typically staying for one to three weeks. Oftentimes patients need this type of care when recovering from knee or hip replacements, open heart surgery, pneumonia or a stroke.
