Alexander City Schools Superintendent Darrell Cooper hasn’t heard any negative backlash from the drug policy for certain students that the Alex City school board unanimously adopted June 16.

“The only comments that I’ve heard since the board passed the policy are those from people who are in favor of it,” Cooper said. “We’re trying to create a healthy learning environment for our kids and make sure that they’re not doing anything to cause harm to them or anyone else when they are participating in these programs or driving on campus.”
