School staff honored for life saving actions

Abigail Murphy / TPI Multiple agencies came together to recognize the Horseshoe Bend staff members who aid in a crisis and saved a fellow teacher’s life.

Fourth-grade teacher Kelly Locke collapsed behind her desk Feb. 18.

Horseshoe Bend School nurse Mercedes Durham was first on the scene. The crisis response team soon followed suit and included Austin Teel, Brannon Carroll, Sawyer Milam, Erica Meigs, Johnathan Anderson, Autumn Kinder, Cindy Jackson and deputy Lamarquis Daniel.
