This year’s Renew Our Rivers lake clean up drew volunteers from all over the county and by all standards, a success.

“There wasn’t as much trash (in the lakebed),” former Lake Martin Resource Association president and longtime volunteer John Thompson said. “At one time, it was very easy to go into the sloughs and fill up a bunch of bags quickly. We’re seeing less every year.”
