The Benjamin Russell football team opened the Class 6A first round with a statement over Central-Tuscaloosa, 26-12, on both sides of the ball. The high-flying passing attack accrued more than 400 passing yards, with BJ Bedgood accounting for eight catches for 212 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Cederian Morgan was not far behind either, with eight catches of his own for 161 receiving yards and two more scores.
