Class 3A, 4A, 5A or 6A — if Kirk Johnson is leading the charge, the team he’s leading is semifinals-bound. Now, five years into his coaching career, Kirk Johnson has made the AHSAA semifinals in each year he’s coached, with this being the first time since 2015 Benjamin Russell has made it this far into the postseason. 

And similar to the Wildcats’ run a decade ago, they must cross through the Mobile area for a chance at a blue map.
