First and foremost, my thoughts are with the tens of thousands of people impacted by Hurricane Harvey, which brought flooding of biblical proportions to east Texas. Hopefully, the waters will quickly recede and damage will not approach levels feared.

Property is destroyed and lives are changed forever. That said, where sporting events are played in the wake of disaster is meaningless by comparison. This becomes an issue in the sports world and venues are shifted to allow this multi-million-dollar industry we call college football to carry on to the delight of television networks and fans who yearn for something to cheer about during difficult times.
