Cottingham makes history at state tournament

Over the weekend, four of Benjamin Russell's wrestlers got to show out on the biggest stage by competing in the AHSAA State Wrestling Championship in Huntsville. 

Sophomore Brooklyn Cottingham’s performance was arguably the most noteworthy. For the first time in school history, she was the first female wrestler to qualify for the state tournament while also being the first Benjamin Russell girls wrestler to place in the state tournament. On the year, Cottingham went a dominating 28-10 with 27 of those wins coming via pin.Â
