Submitted / The Outlook New Site's 10U All-Star softball team won its state championship Saturday in Millbrook. Team members include Marley Trapp, Caralina Tidwell, Lily Moss, Marigrace Jones, Alisa Foreman, Holland Gamble, Marlie Allen, Gracie Deason, Paislee Sharpe, Harper Hunter and Sophie Price.

Just a year ago, New Site’s 10U all-star softball team had to settle for third in the state championships after winning it all as an 8U team the year prior. But now, the girls are back on top after they won four games in a row, including a 6-4 defeat of Phenix City, to win the state title.

“It’s a great feeling,” New Site coach Jason Moss said. “They put the work in and did what they were supposed to do. It paid off.”
