Wildcats start slow, bring intensity at summer playdate

Benjamin Russell’s boys basketball team attended a playdate at 17 Springs on Monday, putting in the work this summer to ensure they have a successful season later on this year. The Wildcats took on now Class 4A opponent Marbury in their first game of the tournament. Despite getting off to a slow start, BRHS fought its way back into the game with its fast-paced play and high-powered offensive effort led by Charlie Lumpkin and Aden Graham. 

“We were sputtering right at the beginning,” BRHS coach Jeremy Freeman said. “Then we kicked it up until halftime, and then once again, we were real lethargic coming back out, and they just ran away from us with time.”
