According to officials at the Alexander City Light Department, a bad switch from Alabama Power caused the Willow Drive substation belonging to the Alexander City Light Department to fail Saturday.
Gina Warren, a spokesperson for Alabama Power, said they could not confirm the original cause of the problem.
