The start of rifle season on Saturday was a day thousands had been waiting on around the state of Alabama. Tallapoosa County game warden Michael East is expecting more success for hunters in the coming months, compared to the slow results of bow season, which began Oct. 15.
The recent cold spell is a good thing for those out in the woods, as well, East said.
