Calpine Corporation announced Thursday it had sold its Hillabee Energy Center project in Tallapoosa County as part of a court-approved bidding process to sell the partially completed power plant in Alexander City.
During an auction, completed Tuesday, Calpine announced it had sold the plant to Constellation Energy for approximately $155 million. The auction was held as part of Calpine’s recently completed Chapter 11 restructuring.
