The T.C. Russell Field’s runway was the site of crunched metal and smoke Saturday afternoon.

James Annable, 24, of Upper Track, W.Va., and a U.S. Marine stationed in Norfolk, Va., crashed his plane in Alexander City at 1:12 p.m. Saturday, according to Alexander City Police Capt. Tim Baker.
