The president and president-elect of the local EAA Chapter 822, Stan Tew and Savannah Weaver are helping prepare the ‘Aluminum Overcast’ for another set passengers at the Montgomery Regional Airport, while crew adjust the propellers.

A relic of World War II flew into the Montgomery Regional Airport last week taking enthusiasts on hour-long excursions in the belly of a fully functional B-17 Flying Fortress, dubbed the Aluminum Overcast.

The plane is flown all over the country from the headquarters of the Experimental Aircraft Association, commonly referred to as the EAA, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
