File / TPI Edgewood Academy is back on the baseball diamond this season after they jumped out to a 1-0 start on opening day.

For coach Justin Chandler and the Edgewood Academy Wildcats, life is bigger than baseball — and that’s the key to success this season.

The Wildcats return a near-full slate of athletes with varsity experience, plus some additions from the offseason. Returners include seven seniors, three juniors and one sophomore. The seniors are captain Brock Whitt at pitcher and first base, captain and catcher Jackson Hudson, utility player and second baseman Landon Smith, pitcher and right fielder Logan Acreman and first baseman and pitcher Ethan Seals. Returning juniors include third-year varsity player Colten Lashley at center field and pitcher, left fielder Brady Allison, catcher and first baseman Owen Mercer, and lone returning sophomore, Jay Oliver, at first base and pitcher.
