Last summer, Andrew McGehee tricked Lindsey McMahon into thinking a spontaneous trip to Auburn was for dinner with friends when he actually was planning a proposal, much the same as their first date.

“We met our freshman year at Auburn, though we both grew up in Birmingham,” McMahon explained. “We had a lot of mutual friends and all started hanging out in groups. Toward the beginning of sophomore year, he started to pursue me. I told him I wasn’t looking for a boyfriend, so he tricked me into our first date.”
