Labor Day cookouts have a way of turning hosts into short-order cooks. Between shopping for a crowd, prepping food, keeping the grill moving and making sure no one’s cup runs dry, the day can start to feel more like a job than a party. But it doesn’t have to go that way; the hosts who actually enjoy their own cookouts tend to skip the same handful of mistakes and lean on a few easy fixes instead.
