Nine men from across the Southeast are in the Elmore County Jail following an undercover child exploitation operation in Wetumpka.

Wetumpka Police Department Maj. Josh Barfoot said the department joined forces with Covenant Rescue Group over the last few days. They were assisted by the Elmore County District Attorney’s office, the Autauga County Sheriff’s office and the Eclectic Police Department in the multi-day operation. In total, nine traveled to Wetumpka expecting to meet a child.
