Russell County Commission: Sellers posthumously proclaimed

In Monday’s work session of the Russell County Commission, commissioners discussed a posthumous proclamation to be held on Wednesday, after Citizen presstime, to honor Richard Sellers. Born in Columbus, Ga., Sept. 26, 1948, Sellers died Aug. 1, 2025 at the age of 78. 

A respected community member in Phenix City, Sellers lived a life marked by devotion to his family, country, and faith. Sellers honorably served in the U.S. Navy and worked with Tom’s Foods, Bibb Company, and St. Francis Hospital. Later, he became a Russell County Building Inspector and Maintenance Supervisor.
