File / TPI The Holtville Bulldogs qualified six boys wrestlers and crowned one South Sectionals champion in AJ Reeves. The Bulldogs will compete for individual state titles in Huntsville between Feb. 12 and 14.

Wrestling has been a highly competitive sport in Elmore County for a while and the Holtville Bulldogs are stepping into the competition. The Bulldogs competed at the AHSAA Class 5A South Sectionals last week, finishing in fourth place as a team with a total of 135.5 points. Along the way, six Holtville wrestlers punched their tickets to the state tournament in Huntsville from Feb. 12 to Feb. 14. 

Holtville wrestling coach Connor Blakely was pleased with his team’s performance.
