Butch Thompson began his 11th season on the Plains in 2026 and is one of the most respected head coaches, not only on campus, but in the SEC. He is well-known to be especially good with pitchers and for simply being a genuinely good human. 

After years of inconsistency, he has turned the Auburn program back into a perennial power and his 330 victories rank third in AU history behind only Paul Nix (515) and Hal Baird (634).
