COACH OF THE YEAR: Wetumpka’s Horn shows leadership on, off the field

There’s a lot more to coaching than just standing on the sidelines, yelling instructions to players, making substitutions and running practice. That part — that’s the easy stuff.

Being a coach is taking on the mentorship of a group of young people, getting them to trust you and following through on those promises. It’s making sure everyone has a physical at the start of the year, coordinating the season’s schedule and all of the logistics.
