Edgewood finishes runner-up, celebrates season’s success

From the very start of the basketball season, the goal has been crystal clear for the Edgewood Academy Wildcats: get back to the AISA Class A state title and bring the championship back to Elmore, proving that the Wildcats are the same dominant program that won back-to-back state titles in 2023 and 2024. 

The Wildcats achieved that goal, but they came just short of a complete run. They fought until the bitter end but ultimately fell to the undefeated No. 1 seed, Abbeville Christian Academy, 66-45 in the AISA Class A state championship game on Friday.
