It’s never easy to come so far and still come up just short. After a great regular season, Elmore County wrestling fought its way through to the final four teams in the AHSAA Class 5A duals. The Panthers faced a stout opponent in Hayden and was ultimately defeated, 55-19. They bounced back in the third place match, facing the Beauregard Hornets for the third time this season after beating them in the two previous meetings.
Elmore County sealed its third win over the Hornets, 46-30, and claimed third place in Class 5A for the second-straight season.
Temperatures will fall below freezing tonight across all of
Central Alabama with residual moisture on local roadways. This will
lead to the possibility of hazardous travel in some areas. Black
ice may create slick spots on some local roads...bridges and
