Tallassee wrestling, led by longtime coach John Mask, hosted a wrestling camp last weekend for current and prospective wrestlers, both boys and girls. Mask was joined by several of his winningest wrestlers, including Josh Epperson and Land Bell, as they worked with campers on their moves.
Year after year, John Mask and the Tallassee Tigers prove a winning culture is built — and maintained — by athletes who remember and strive for what was previously accomplished. Mask hosted a wrestling camp for current and prospective wrestlers last week and to his surprise, he was joined by several of the best wrestlers in Tallassee history.
“I introduced them, and it was special,” Mask said. “A lot of them see the names on the wall, but they don’t really know them. So, having these guys home to speak to them, share a few words. It’s just like they get to put a name to the face. Oh man, that’s a two-time champ, or a three-time champ, so it was pretty neat to have those guys come home.”
