Tallassee Schools post football coach, athletic director job opening

After TPI reported that Tallassee football coach and athletic director Lawrence “L.A.” O’Neal had accepted a post at Park Crossing High School in Montgomery, unanswered questions about the future of Tallassee’s football program have been flying. Last week Tallassee City Schools posted the job opening for O’Neal’s soon-to-be former post. The description lists an athletic director position on a 12-month contract with a $30,000 stipend and a $5,000 head coaching supplement. O’Neal confirmed that he had accepted Park Crossing’s offer of the position, but declined to speak on the record until after the hiring had been approved by the Montgomery School Board. The school board meeting is set for April 14.
