Area volleyball tournaments will take center stage Wednesday as teams compete for area titles and opportunities to advance in the postseason. With several local programs preparing for win-or-go-home matchups, the tournaments will test each team’s preparation, communication and ability to perform under pressure.

In Class 5A Area 4, Stanhope Elmore will host Russell County at 2 p.m., followed by Benjamin Russell taking on Wetumpka at 4 p.m. The winners of those opening matches will meet at 7 p.m. for the area championship.
