It was not thunder everyone heard Saturday and Sunday in Tallassee. It was the 28th Annual Bill Anthony Memorial Battles for the Armory.

Cliff Williams / TPI The reenactment depicted the the Confederate Army defending the area against Union raiders. It included firing of muskets, artillery and even deaths.

The Battles for the Armory saw Confederate and Union armies battle it out at Gibson’s View Plantation on Rifle Range Road. It was hosted by the Tallassee Armory Guards, Camp 1921 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
