The Friends of Tuckabatchee, the organization that oversees the presentation of the annual Tecumseh at Tuckbatchee play in Tallassee, has been coordinating activities for the members of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation from Oklahoma when they visit this area to commemorate the bicentennial of the Battle of Horseshoe Bend, which was fought on March 27, 1814. The play will be presented at the Horseshoe Bend National Military Park, located near Daviston on Alabama Highway 49, as part of the bicentennial activities.
