Cliff Williams / TPI New signage is being installed around town to help visitors find downtown. The projects is an effort from the Tallassee Redevelopment Authority.

Residents of eastern Elmore and southern Tallapoosa counties know where downtown Tallassee is. But it's not always clear to out-of-town guests how to get there.

“We just met with someone who came from the interstate,” Tallassee Redevelopment Authority’s Dr. Steve Burak said. “They kept going up Gilmer Avenue.”
