The Tallassee City Council is still considering just how to alter the city’s ordinance banning manufactured and modular homes in city limits.

The council approved a ban at its first February meeting and at a town hall meeting and the second council meeting of the month, council members announced they wanted to revisit the ban. Members said they were inclined to allow certain manufactured homes but wanted to study the issue. At Monday’s council meeting, Alabama Manufactured Home Association’s Lance Latham spoke on manufactured and modular homes. He said both are built in a factory where efficiencies in building materials and labor can be obtained.
