Words such as pinnacle, tectonic, valiant and catalyst got Prattville Christian Academy eighth grader Victoria Hampton and Tallassee Southside Middle School student Cooper Baxley to the final rounds of the Elmore County Spelling Bee.

But Cooper misspelled emissary, E-M-M-I-S-A-R-Y and Victoria spelled cilantro correctly in the 17th round before finally spelling contraband correctly in the 18th round to win.
