The Tallassee City Council approved a new roof for the current Tallassee Police Department in a July meeting at a cost of $18,500. The council learned at its meeting last week from police officers there is still a large leak.

“It’s pouring in through a hole for an old furnace,” Tallassee police Capt. Jon Rawls told the council. “There is a vent stack coming from there and going up. It needs to be taken off and sealed.”
