Tallassee airport case gets court hearing

A decision about the legality of sale of the City of Tallassee airport to MAVHAWK is still pending.

The case was before Circuit Court Judge James Farmer in Dadeville on Monday. A suit challenging the sale was filed by Bill Patterson on the same date the sale closed last fall. City attorney Ricky Howard argued for a dismissal of the case based on Patterson not having standing in the case and not noting a hardship in the case. Patterson’s attorney, Samuel Johnson, said the process of the airport sale was incorrect and in fact did not separate the ball park and new city shop from the recorded deed.
