Submitted / TPI Reeves Field has not been used as an airport for years. The City of Tallassee sold it to Mavhawk where private ownership will bring the airport back to life.
After a 15 minute executive session, the Tallassee City Council approved the sale of the city’s airport for a second time. The difference this time was it started with surplusing the property.
Mayor Sarah Hill asked for the private discussion with the council for the purpose of discussing pending litigation and economic development. Both topics are allowed by law to be discussed in a private session.
