Caring for caregivers might not be done often enough, however, it is important for New ADKA’s Our Journey of Hope.

Sarah Chase / TPI Caregiver luncheon guest speaker Sylvia Phillips shares about the loved ones she has lost in her life and how having hope got her through each difficult season she faced to encourage caregivers.

The church organization hosted its Honoring Awesome Caregivers and Patients Program with a caregiver luncheon on Wednesday. Guest speaker Sylvia Phillips’ speech entitled “Hope in Difficult Seasons” reminded caregivers to stay encouraged even when it is hard. Phillips knows what it is like to lose hope. She lost her adopted son in a car wreck two weeks before he was set to graduate high school. In 2007 her first and only granddaughter was killed in a car accident at 5 years old. The next year, she lost her youngest sister to cancer.
