TCBOE work session updates board members on audit

The Tallapoosa County Board of Education’s 2024 fiscal year audit is wrapping up with a closing conference to possibly be scheduled for March. Tallapoosa County Schools chief financial officer La’Monica Slaughter said the 2025 fiscal year bank reconciliations are completed through September, but the end of the year processes are not. 

Slaughter and Tallapoosa County Schools superintendent Casey Davis also discussed possibly moving the board meeting dates to later in the month, so Slaughter can give the board more accurate information regarding their financials as bank statements do not come in before the board meetings.
