Tuesday’s work session shed light on what the Dadeville City Council can expect for the upcoming fiscal year’s budget.

A 4% salary increase for city employees is in the budget, and the Dadeville Police Department and Dadeville Fire Department budgets have the biggest increase. Dadeville Mayor Chuck Ledbetter said a majority of it would be paid for from the property tax increase. For the police budget, the biggest change is with the salaries for officers. Those changes allow for the department to be competitive with the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office. Money was also allocated for a new police car that was not purchased during the last fiscal year.
