2 youth teams eliminated after onfield scuffle

Two 10U baseball teams were eliminated Sunday from the USSSA Battleground World Series tournament hosted at the Wetumpka Sports Complex. But the elimination of the Alabama Xtreme from Moody and a team from Ranburne didn’t come about because of a score. It came about because of the USSSA conduct policy following an incident at third base during the top of the third inning. A video on Gamechanger, which has since been removed, showed an Alabama Xtreme player sliding into third base. Almost immediately, it appears punches are being thrown.

“Coaches quickly stepped in and pulled them apart,” USSSA representative Matt Fallin said. “We have a zero tolerance policy for that and both teams were removed from the tournament.”
